ENGLISH YOUTH BALLET RETURN TO THE NORWICH THEATRE ROYAL, NORWICH WITH A GLORIOUS PRODUCTION OF
THE SLEEPING BEAUTY
FRIDAY 2 JULY & SATURDAY 3 JULY 2010
Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to see a large production of 100 young local dancers perform alongside professional dancers from London who will take the leading roles of Aurora and The Prince.
Rehearsals have already started and will continue over the next couple of weekends in preparation for this sumptuous and scintillating production.
English Youth Ballet celebrate their 12th year travelling the country putting on up to 8 productions a year involving young local dancers. It is an opportunity for youngsters who get through the audition process to have a taste of what life might be like if they ever joined a professional ballet company.
Despite the gruelling 6 hour rehearsals it is also great fun, they make many new friends and are inspired by the choreography and rehearsals taken by professional dancers. English Youth Ballet is unique as no other company offers this opportunity to students between the ages of 8 – 18 years.

“Janet Lewis’ English Youth Ballet has now been going for a decade, growing in popularity to such an extent that 8 productions are currently staged each year. The logistics behind such an enterprise are quite baffling – each show uses from 80 – 120 young dancers aged between 8 and 18 so it is not only the concept of providing opportunities for ballet students in the regions to dance in classical ballets but also the incredibly efficient organisation behind it all that deserves accolade’
