Emma Lister
Born in Canada, Emma trained at The Royal Winnipeg School under the tutelage of Galina Yordanova and upon graduation danced with The Royal Winnipeg Ballet. While there, she learnt and performed a variety of roles such as Balanchine’s Serenade, Four Temperaments, and Concerto Barroco, Van Manen’s Piano Variation, as well as the full length classics Don Quixote, The Nutcracker, and Swan Lake.
In 2000 Emma moved to London England, where she worked with the English National Ballet in several of their “in the round productions” at the Royal Albert Hall including Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, and Romeo and Juliet which toured Australia in 2001. She has also toured the UK extensively with Ballet Ireland, and has been invited to America as a guest principal dancer for the Anchorage Classical Ballet on several occasions. Emma joined EYB in the summer of 2004, dancing the role of the Lilac Fairy in Sleeping Beauty and Swanilda in Coppelia. She has since added the principal roles of Aurora in Sleeping Beauty and the Sugar Plum Fairy The Nutcracker, and Juliet in a Maltese production of Romeo & Juliet.
