Dominic Marshall

Trained at Rambert School of Ballet and on graduation he spent three years dancing solo roles with the Gothenburg Ballet in Sweden. On his return to England he joined the Lewis London Ballet in 1985 where he has danced the Prince and Carabosse in “The Sleeping Beauty”, the Prince and Drosselmeyer in “The Nutcracker”, Le Corsaire pas de deux in “Gala Divertissements”, and has assisted with the planning and rehearsals of new productions. Now an established choreographer, he has created ballets for The Urdang Academy, Gothenburg Ballet and the Lewis London Ballet. His successful first work,” XY (The Flexing of the Male Ego)” was followed by the spellbinding “Zodiaque”, set to Rick Wakeman’s music. His choreographic versatility has shown exciting development with dramatic additions to his repertory, “Porgy and Bess”, and “The Rite of Spring”, his lyrical pas de deux “The Missing Page” and his comic interpretation of The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party in “Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland”. His recent work includes, an alternative version of “Petrushka”, for Balletomania, Director and choreographer for “MacGregor’s Trap” – a rock musical by Brian Spence for the Edinburgh Festival , “The Angel”, “Turn of the Century” , “Riders on the Storm”, “Pictures at an Exhibition”, “Mirrors in Mirrors” and “Labyrinthine Dreams” for the the Anglian Ballet Company where he is associate choreographer. Most recently Dominic has created a new ballet to 3 piano movements from Stravinsky’s “The Firebird” for “Virtuoso” a unique company of 5 dancers and the notable concert pianist Alvin Moisey and “The Angel & The Fallen” performed at Salisbury Cathedral with Haley Westenra and The Band of the Adjutant Generals Corps.
